On a personal note
Dr. Wilson is not only a hardworking, devoted, and caring doctor but she is also a hardworking, devoted, and caring wife and mother. Dr. Wilson has two children, Andrew and Amanda, who are wonderful, athletic, talented, and hardworking. Additionally, Dr. Wilson is married to the President and CEO of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, George Sparks. As a team they work hard to provide for their children, and as individuals they support one another in their important, demanding, and rewarding careers. In their spare time the family loves to be outside, go skiing and snowboarding, read, and spend time with their pets, but most of all they love to play music for friends and family in their family band, The Crooked Whiskers.
Guiding philosophy
Dr. Wilson’s medical philosophy is composed of several virtues that allow her to achieve a balance among providing the highest quality of patient care; advocating for her patients; being a team player; and educating her patients, students, and colleagues using the years of knowledge and experience she has accumulated.
Although Dr. Wilson tends to follow the standard cancer treatment guidelines as well as the SWOG protocol in treating her patients, occasionally she does feel it necessary to deviate from those guidelines depending on specific patient needs and scenarios. All guidelines she follows have been thoughtfully created and have proven to provide the best care and results for cancer patients – which, of course, is her ultimate goal always.
